Tillandsia Tectorum is covered in trichomes, the fine hairs that give it a bright white, fuzzy appearance. Those hairs are how it collects water, which is why its care differs from other air plants.

The care rule is dry, not wet. Mist it lightly once a day in a dry climate if there is no morning dew, and let it dry quickly afterwards. A light to medium mist is enough. Soaking it is the common way people kill this species.
It does poorly in high heat combined with heavy humidity. If it lives outdoors somewhere humid, give it strong air circulation.
Small plants run about 2 to 2.5 inches wide. Large run 3 to 4 inches. Buy a set of 3 or 5 to save up to 20 percent.
