Description

This Laguiole pakkawood folding knife comes in seven handle colours, from blue and khaki to red and black. Laguiole en Aubrac makes each one with a single artisan responsible for the entire process.

Pakkawood shows fine layered stripes, like contour lines on a map. The colours are soft and natural rather than glossy. With the shepherd's cross on the handle, it is unmistakably a Laguiole.

Pakkawood is composed of 70% wood and 30% resin. The maker says it keeps the warmth of wood with more durability. The blade is 12C27 Sandvik stainless steel, 4.8 inches (12 cm) long. The spring is polished on the inside and forged as a single piece with its bee. The bolsters are stainless steel. It is crafted near the village of Laguiole, in the Aubrac region of France.

This is the most affordable way into a handmade Laguiole folding knife. You can pick a colour for each person in the family, or match one to your kitchen.
