Description

This Laguiole mammoth molar knife has a brown mammoth molar handle crossed by thin light blue bands. Laguiole en Aubrac builds it with double-plated construction.

The blue lines trace the tooth's natural enamel plates, and they glint when light hits them. Matte bolsters and spine let the handle take the attention. It feels like holding something very old and very rare.

The handle is ancient mammoth molar, a rare material with a remarkable layered structure. Double-plated means two stainless steel plates reinforce the spring, and here the plates are hand filed. The bee and spring are forged from a single piece of stainless steel. The blade is Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel, 4 inches (10 cm) long, with a 4.75 inch (12 cm) cutting edge. The bolsters and spine are matte stainless steel. It weighs 112.8 g (3.97 oz). It includes a certificate of authenticity and is made in Espalion, France, within the historic Laguiole region.

It is among the most distinctive pieces Laguiole en Aubrac offers. You can carry it every day, keep it in a collection or present it as a gift.
