The Explosion pattern bursts across the blade in bold, scattered swirls. Black horn and polished steel make it look almost formal. When it is closed, the hand-filed plates carry a detailed pattern along the back.
The blade is an Explosion Damascus made of carbon with 160 layers. It has strong contrast and a hardness of 61 to 63 HRC. Double-plated means two stainless steel plates reinforce the spring, and here the plates are hand filed. The bee and spring are forged from a single piece of stainless steel. The handle is buffalo horn. The bolsters and spine are polished stainless steel. The blade is 4 inches (10 cm), with a 4.75 inch (12 cm) cutting edge. The knife weighs 108 g (3.8 oz). It includes a certificate of authenticity and is made in Espalion, France, within the historic Laguiole region.
